      Mission Statement

      Iqraa Arabic Academy's (IAA) mission is to provide a learning environment for students to acquire the skills of reading, writing, listening, and speaking in Arabic, allowing them to communicate effectively in Arabic and facilitating the understanding of the Arabic language, culture, and heritage.

      Why Arabic?

      As one of the oldest languages, Arabic is widely spoken in many parts of the world. While 33 countries claim Arabic as the first or second official language, approximately 1.8 billion Muslims worldwide consider Arabic a sacred language used in daily religious rituals. The language ranks among the top five spoken languages in the world and is one of the six official languages of the United Nations. Due to its popularity and ancient history, Arabic has influenced many languages worldwide, including English, Spanish, Portuguese, Turkish, Kurdish, Persian, Urdu, Hindi, Malay, and Somali.

       IAA's Program in Mountain House

      Because of its prominence, Iqraa Arabic Academy was founded to promote the Arabic language, culture, and heritage to the local community. The Arabic language program offered by IAA provides quality Arabic education for High School students using the Modern Standard Arabic (MSA). The program courses aim to provide 9th to 12th-grade students with an introduction to the four language skills (listening, speaking, reading, and writing) in a cultural context that promotes the fascinating language of Arabic.

      Iqraa Arabic Academy obtained approval from LUSD after receiving WASC accreditation in May 2024.

Arabic Teacher Opening for High School Arabic Courses

  

Position Title: Part-Time Arabic Teacher

Start Date: Fall 2025

Location: Mountain House, CA 

About IAA:

Iqraa Arabic Academy is an educational organization dedicated to teaching the Arabic language and promoting Arabic culture in the Mountain House and East Bay.

About the program:

The program has three levels: novice, intermediate, and advanced. Each level takes two semesters: Fall and Winter.

The three levels introduce fundamental concepts of standard Arabic. This course is designed for beginners with no prior Arabic knowledge. All four language skills (listening, speaking, reading, and writing) are introduced in a cultural context.

Requirements:

IAA is looking for an Arabic teacher to teach high school students the Arabic language. The teaching responsibilities will start at the beginning of the 2025-26 school year in Mountain House, CA.

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

·       Has CA teaching credentials - CSET (California Subject Examinations for Teachers).

·       Fluent in Arabic (reading, writing, and speaking) and aware of the culture and history of the Arab world.

·       Has a work permit and is authorized to work in the US.

·       Has a degree in Arabic language.

·       Several years of demonstrated teaching experience.

·       Has experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as Canvas or Moodle.


Responsibilities:

Instructors will collaborate with other instructors/teacher assistants and the academic program manager to deliver coordinated classroom instructions. The hired teacher will prepare students for a smooth transition into higher Arabic grades in this 3-level program.

•     Conduct an immersive, engaging Arabic study program

•     Flexible teaching style that is easily adaptable to different levels and types of students

•     Provide instruction in Arabic spelling, pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary, and composition

•     Help students communicate and understand Arabic.

•     Teach students about Arabic literature, culture and history

•     Create engaging lesson plans; plan classroom activities to motivate students with visual aids

•     Evaluate student progress and adapt classroom teaching methods based on their performance

 

Compensation:
